Anosike makes trip to Iowa, visits basketball program
OD Anosike had the opportunity to travel to Iowa City and reunite with coaches Fran McCaffery and Andrew Francis – who had both coached Anosike during his tenure at Siena College. Anosike spent two days touring the campus, observing practice, and listening in on staff meetings as the team prepared for a European foreign trip where they will make stops in Italy, Germany, and Switzerland in early August.
“It was truly an honor to be able to shadow such highly respected basketball coaches like Fran McCaffery and his staff” said Anosike. “They were extremely open and receptive to anything I wanted to know. Although I’m still in the midst of my playing career, coaching at the Division I level is something I would like to strongly pursue in the future. This visit definitely went a long way in teaching me the ins and outs of what it takes to become a college coach.”
