Anosike grabs 21 rebounds, Ankaragucu earns its fourth straight victory
Since the new year, a new Ankaragucu team has taken shape. They were able to keep their positive momentum rolling as they secured a 77-69 road victory against in-town rival Ormanspor on Friday night. OD Anosike had a monster performance with 12 points, 21 rebounds and 2 steals.
“It was an important win for us – it’s never easy to win rivalry games, especially on the road” said Anosike. “The win allowed us to move up in the standings and solidify ourselves as a legitimate playoff contender. We’ve been playing well lately, I’m proud of the team. We’ll need our best effort for the final 9 games of the season in order to continue to win games”.
The victory was the team’s fourth in a row, as they have now won 9 of their last 11 games. The hot streak has helped them reach 10th place in the league standings with a 10-15 record. Since his arrival in January, OD Anosike has been productive, with current averages of 12 points, 14.2 rebounds (first in the league) and 2 assists. Ankaragucu will be back in action on February 25 in a home matchup against Balikesir.
