OD Anosike has finalized a one-year contract with Spanish powerhouse Laboral Kutxa Vitoria in Vitoria, Spain.

Laboral Kutxa is widely regarded as one of the most historical basketball clubs not only in Spain, but in all of Europe. Former players of the team include Pablo Prigioni, Lamar Odom, Tiago Splitter, Jose Calderon, and Luis Scola. The team will compete in the ACB Spanish League, which includes prominent clubs such as FC Barcelona and Real Madrid. Laboral Kutxa will also compete in the highest level of international competition that Europe has to offer, which is known as the Euroleague. The Euroleague is composed of 24 of the top teams from all across Europe, including teams like Bayern Munich, CSKA Moscow, and Fenerbahce Istanbul.

“To be able to make the jump to an organization like Laboral Kutxa is extremely exciting and humbling for me” said Anosike. “Honestly, history of the club speaks for itself. My career has grown exponentially over the past few seasons, and I’m looking forward to being a part of one of the best teams in Europe this season.”

Anosike leaves the Italian Serie A league after two successful campaigns, leading the league in rebounding in both seasons. “Italy was a tremendous experience, I’m definitely going to miss it. It was a place that allowed me to start my career in outstanding fashion” said Anosike. “But at the same time, I’m sure that the country of Spain will embrace me in the same way. It’s going to be a lot of fun.”

Laboral Kutxa begins ACB league play on October 10. Coincidentally, the team begins Euroleague competition in familiar territory for Anosike as the team travels to Italy to take on Italian regular season champion Olimpia Armani Milan on October 16.
