Cholet continues historic season, clinches playoff berth with victory over Euroleague team Monaco
After being in the relegation zone in January, Cholet completed their historic turnaround with a 92-85 victory against Monaco. With the win, they clinched the 8th position in the playoffs in France’s ProA Jeep Elite league. OD Anosike had 11 points and 4 rebounds in the win.
“We’re living a dream right now and we don’t want to wake up” said Anosike. “To see where we were a few months ago and be in this position now is incredible. It’s been a magical season and one of the most enjoyable of my career. We head into the playoffs with great confidence because we’ve shown that we’re one of the best teams in France”.
With the victory, Cholet improves to 18-16 while Monaco falls to 25-9. Cholet will take on number 1 seed ASVEL in the quarterfinals, which will begin on May 24 in Lyon.
