Fuerza Regia finds its way behind MVP candidate Anosike’s leadership
Fuerza Regia has been on a hot streak, winning 8 out of their last 9 games including 5 straight. Their late surge has put them into a tie for second place in the standings with the playoffs just two weeks away. It’s no coincidence that as OD Anosike has taken his game to another level, so has his team.
Anosike is currently averaging 15 points along with 10 rebounds, which is good for second in the league. His 5 double doubles rank third in the league, while also shooting an efficient 58 percent from the floor. In the two wins this weekend against Durango Lenadores, Anosike had 18 points and 14 rebounds followed by an 18 point and 11 rebound performance.
“It’s been a great past few weeks for me individually, but more importantly it’s also been an exciting time collectively for our team” said Anosike. “We got off to a slow start to begin the season, but we were resilient enough to overcome the adversity that we faced. It’s a testament to our coaching staff and the players we have in our locker room that are truly professionals on and off the court.”
With his consistent performance, Anosike has earned league-wide recognition as he was nominated for the Mexican League Eastern Conference MVP award this week.
