Lavrio comes back from 0-2 deficit, advances to Greek Championship
Lavrio made history on Saturday night as they became the first team in Greece A1 league history to come back from a 0-2 playoff series deficit to win 3-2. They beat EuroCup power Promitheas 81-74 in a thrilling home victory.
“It was a hard fought series” said Anosike. “Being down 0-2, I was proud of the resolve and poise we exhibited throughout the week. We stayed together and took it one game at a time. To head to the championship for the first time in Lavrio’s history is a great accomplishment and I’m just thankful to be a part of it”.
Lavrio will advance to the Greek finals to play Euroleague power Panathinaikos. Game 1 is set for June 3.
