Lavrio gets sweep, moves on to semifinals
Second-seed Lavrio was able to secure two consecutive wins to give them a 2-0 series sweep over seven-seed Kolossos Rhodes in the Greek A1 League playoff quarterfinals. OD Anosike finished with 12 points and 12 rebounds in Game 1, and followed with a 10 point, 7 rebound performance in Game 2.
“I’m really proud of the way we performed this week” said Anosike. “We had a great understanding of how dangerous of a team Kolossos was if we didn’t play to our potential. As the 2-seed, the onus was on us to compete at a high level and we made a concerted effort to do so. We’re looking forward to moving on to the semis”.
With the series now over, Anosike and Lavrio now await the winner of the 3 vs. 6 matchup between Promitheas and Peristeri.
