Manisa narrowly missed playoffs, stays in Turkey’s BSL

After a hard fought season, Manisa managed to climb the rankings to put themselves in position to make the BSL playoffs. Unfortunately, their playoff hopes concluded on the last day of the season as they fell to Turkish powerhouse Galatasary 84-79. OD Anosike completed his season campaign with 7 points, 16 rebounds, and 6 assists.

“It was a difficult year, but we really came into our own during the second half of the season” said Anosike. “We were right in the mix for a playoff spot until our last game and that speaks volumes about the people we have in our locker room. I would like to thank the my teammates, the city of Manisa, the club, fans, coaches and staff for all of their hard work and effort this season. It’s truly a high-level organization and I know they’ll continue to do great things in the future”.

With the loss, Manisa ends it’s season in 11th place with a record of 12-18. Individually, Anosike concludes his season as one of the most consistent big men in the league with averages of 9.2 points, a league-leading 10.8 rebounds, and 2.3 assists while shooting 59 percent from the field and tallying 9 double-doubles.

Anosike is now a free agent.
