Solid inside play from Anosike helps power Manisa to victory
After winning three straight games in the Turkish BSL, Manisa took on Tofas Bursa in a home matchup. Despite being down 70-63 with 6 minutes to go, Manisa was able to battle back and secure a 82-76 victory. OD Anosike chipped in with 11 points and 11 rebounds in 32 minutes of action – good for his 6th double-double of the season.
“It was a tough game for us, especially going against a team with great size and dynamic guards” said Anosike. “Being down late in the game would’ve made it easy to give up, but we didn’t and I’m proud of the guys for that. Four wins in a row in a league like this isn’t easy to do”.
With the win Manisa improves to 7-11 on the season, which ties them with multiple teams for 9th place in the standings. Manisa will take on Euroleague powerhouse Fenerbache on 2/12 in a road matchup.
