OD Anosike Named Director of Student-Athlete Development & Assistant General Manager for Queens University of Charlotte Men’s Basketball
After retiring from professional basketball this summer, OD Anosike has officially begun the next chapter of his career. Earlier this week, Queens University of Charlotte announced Anosike’s addition to the Royals men’s basketball staff as Director of Student-Athlete Development & Assistant General Manager. Anosike joins the coaching staff following an accomplished 13-year professional playing career that spanned 11 countries, including Italy, France, Spain, Greece, Turkey, South Korea, and Mexico. He earned three championships while establishing himself as one of the premier rebounders in international basketball, leading his league in rebounding 10 times. Anosike concluded his playing career with iLab Basketbol in Turkey during the 2025-26 season, where he averaged 10.5 points and a league-leading 11.9 rebounds per game. He also participated in NBA Summer League competition with the Denver Nuggets and Boston Celtics organizations. A standout at Siena University, Anosike enjoyed one of the most decorated careers in program history.

On Tuesday afternoon, OD Anosike had the privilege of serving as a panelist for the National Student Leadership Conference’s Sport Management Career Program, hosted at Queens University of Charlotte. Joining five fellow professionals from across the sports industry, Anosike shared insights with aspiring sport management leaders on the many pathways into athletics, emphasizing the importance of building authentic relationships, embracing lifelong learning, and maintaining a servant leadership mindset throughout their careers. The West Brighton gymnasium was filled with spectators Thursday night, many of whom gathered to celebrate OD Anosike and the retirement of his basketball jersey at St. Peter’s Boys High School on Staten Island, New York. The honor marked a full-circle moment in his journey. As a child, Anosike dreamed of wearing a St. Peter’s jersey. The program is nationally recognized for identifying talented and driven minority individuals and exposing them to the field of athletics development. Through this targeted engagement, the program seeks to expand and strengthen the pipeline of minority leaders within the athletics development profession.
